About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities: UCGPC Bylaws §2.5
Serves as CFO of UCGPC.
Serves as the point person in dealing with IRS, auditors, and other financial institutions.
Establishes, maintains, and ensures compliance of UCGPC fiscal policies and procedures.
Oversees collection and disbursement of all UCGPC funds under the direction of the Council.
Presents quarterly financial and budgetary reports to the Council.
Represents UCGPC to the Council on Student Fees.

Term Duration:
Sep 10, 2022 to August 31, 2023

Compensation:
$400/month. ($4,800 total), travel reimbursed.

Estimated Workload:
Approximately 5-15 hours per month, may vary.

Requirements

  • Must be an enrolled student at a UC graduate or professional degree program for the entire term.

  • The nomination must be made by a current member of the UCGPC Board.


Recommended Prior Experience:

  • Treasurer or financial management of a nonprofit organization or a student-driven group, association, or movement.

  • Communication strategy planning and execution.

  • Engagement with the CA or federal legislative process.

  • Leadership role in a student-driven group, association, or movement.


Recommended Skills:

  • Proficiency in mass communication, communicating with public officials.

  • Basic understanding of Robert’s Rules.

  • Student-centered advocacy and political advocacy.

  • Relationship building, flexibility, attention to detail.
