One of the exciting things that UCGPC does is recruit graduate students to speak at the Board of Regents meetings held regularly throughout the academic year. These students are called StARs: Student Advocates to the Regents. UCGPC and UCSA carefully select UC students to speak on behalf of student priorities.

The UC Board of Regents' mission is to "serve as trustees for the people of the State of California and as stewards for the University of California, acting to govern the University as a public trust in fulfillment of its educational, research, and public service missions in the best interests of the people of California." This month, the Board of Regents meeting will be held on September 20-22, 2022 at UC San Diego.

If you are interested, head over to our application page: https://www.ucgpc.org/star. To be eligible, you must be a current graduate student at one of the University of California campuses and must be able to attend Board of Regents meetings for the month either in-person or virtually. Apply by September 9, 2022 by 5:00 pm PT.
